Product Description

Level 42 became one of the seminal British bands after kicking off in the 80s as a bass driven jazz funk band. After influencing a whole movement and many artists, their sound became the mainstream and made them one of the best loved bands of the last 20 years.

The last Level 42 album was released in 1995 and now they are back! Mark King has recorded and produced a stunning album of classic Level 42 tunes that has all the hallmarks of the band at their most potent. Original member, Mike Lindup features on several tracks - the first time him and Mark have joined forces in over a decade. The album was written by Mark and Boon Gould, another of the original line-up, to create a musically and lyrically intoxicating album.

絶えず進化し､挑戦し続けるマークキングの新たな傑作です｡オリジナルメンバーも加わり､音楽の質もキープ。詞は意味深く､曲は味わい深く・・・聴くほどに心に染み入るアルバムです。

狂ったように最高！待ってて良かった♪年齢を重ねるごとに見事に演奏技術がグレードアップしていきますね。曲調は、昔馴染みの曲を彷彿とさせるようなメロディも織り込まれていて嬉しい限り。今回はかなり凝ったようで複雑に音を重ねているらしく、今まで知らなかったLevel42の技術的一面が伺われます。10数年前に行ったきりのLive。ぜひ再び日本に来て、その見事な演奏っぷりを生で！この眼に焼きつけたいです。Level42ファンは熱狂的で、ライブ、盛り上がるんですよね♪

復活作とはいえ、さほど期待をせずにプレイヤーに掛けたら1曲目からぶっ飛びましたよ！ただの再結成作とは大違い。さすがマークキング。高速チョッパーを奏でながらヴォーカルをこなす様が脳裏をよぎります。ゲイリーハズバンドもいい仕事してますね。一番のお気に入りは５曲目「sleep talking」です。かつてのポップス路線突入以前のベースの暴れん坊将軍ぶりを彷彿させます。
